NewPro OS Stripping Paint with a Solvent Base Glazing or Colourless

A covering material for the short-term protection of smooth surfaces against mechanical and chemical influences (Stripping Paint).

Undercoat / Preparation:

The undercoat has to be absolutely clean, dry and dust and grease free.

  • Construction steel, steel plate, grey cast iron, zinc coating, stainless steel, light and non-ferrous metals.

Clean, dry and grease free

  • Primed surfaces, wood / wood materials, mineral undercoats.

Not suitable

  • Plastics, old paint coatings.

According to independent preliminary tests

PROCESSING

Storage Stability:
At least 12 months in unopened original containers at a storage temperature between 15 and 25°C.

Storage temperatures above 40°C are to be avoided due to reactions with the binding agents which can cause a change in the viscosity and the peel ability of the dry film.
Close opened containers tightly and use as soon as possible.

Thinning: NewPro Plastic Coating Thinner for PVC- and Acrylic Paints Art.-No.: 0089-09200

Application:
Before processing the colour shade and the compatibility with the undercoat are to be tested. The object, materials and the surrounding temperature should not be under 15°C or above 25°C and must be at least 5°C above the dew point. In case of doubt the peel ability must be tested with the intended undercoat in independent preliminary test. The material is to be applied free of pores in even coats and with sufficient thickness by brush or roller.
When using spray application the system has to be adjusted to ensure that characteristic string production does not occur with this type of binding agent.

Theoretical Yield:

with 30 μm Dry Film Thickness (140 μm Wet Film = 130 g/m²) ¦ 7.3 m²/l = 7.6 m²/kg

with 40 μm Dry Film Thickness (= 180 μm Wet Film = 180 g/m²) ¦ 5.5 m²/l = 5.7 m²/kg

Drying: (under normal climat conditions 23/50 and sufficient air movement)

Dust Dry        about 10 minutes
Touch Dry     about 20 minutes
Workable       2 hours

The drying time increases considerably if the drying temperatures are under 10°C, air humidity over 85% or insufficient air movement.
Drying temperatures under 5°C can lead to the film being destroyed (forming of blisters, adhesion loss).
