HANDLING AND APPLICATION

Storage stability: At least 12 months when stored in original, un-opened packages at temperatures between 15 and 25°C (60 - 85°F).
Phase separation or slightly stirred bottom crust do not affect the quality of the coating. Storage temperatures above 40° C / 104° F should be avoided, because reaction of the binder may change the hue and viscosity of the material. Opened containers must be sealed well and used up as soon as possible.

thinner: NewPro special thinner Article no.: 03089-00580

application: Before application, the color shade and the compatibility with the substrate should be tested. Object-, material and ambient temperature should not be below 15° C (49° F) and not above 25° C (77° F) and must be at least 5° above the dew point. This paint is preferably applied by brush or roller.
The longest protection duration has been made by brushing 2 x 70 microns (2 x 2.8 mils) dry film.
For spraying, the product must be adjusted to the required viscosity for spraying method. During the spraying make sure that the user and other persons do not inhale spray mist.

theoretical
spreading rate:

at 070 microns (2.8mils) dry film thickness 07.3 m²/l = 4.2 m²/kg
= 140 microns (5.4 mils) wet film = 240 g/m² (0.44 lbs/yd²) 39.6 yd²/gal = 2.3 yd²/lb

at 100 microns (3.9mils) dry film thickness 5.1 m²/l = 2.9 m²/kg
= 200 microns (7.7 mils) wet film = 340 g/m² (0.63 lbs/yd²) 27.7 yd²/gal = 1.6 yd²/lb

drying time:  (at standard climate 23°C (73°F) / 50 % rel. humidity and adequate air circulation)

dust-dry approx.   01 hour
touch dry approx. 04 hours
load resistant
   water approx.    48 hours
   mechanical stress approx. 07 days
   cured approx. 10 days

Drying temperatures below 10°C / 50°F, relative humidity above 85% or not sufficient air circulation increases the drying time significantly.
Drying temperatures below 5°C / 41°F can cause film defects (blistering, loss of adhesion)
