NewPro Epoxid PAOS inside buildings and machine paints

Polyamide cured epoxy resin coatings for chemical resistant, corrosion protection topcoats inside buildings and machine paints

Substrates / surface preparation:

substrates must be absolutely clean, dry and free of grease and dust.

suitable pre-coatings:
structural steel, sheet steel, galvanized steel, light alloy / nonferrous metal

prepare prediluted mixture:
mineral substrate

according to pre-tests in own responsibility:
plastics, old coatings, third party primers,

not recommended:
wood / wooden composite

(recommended) primer:

Steel substrates prepared according to DIN EN ISO 12944-4
(blasted Sa 2½)
NewPro 2K-ZP primer (colour)           Article no.: 7009-xxxx-0060

HANDLING AND APPLICATION:

storage stability:
Both components separately in original unopened containers at storage temperatures between 15 and 25°C for at least 6 months. Storage temperatures above 30°C should be avoided, because by reactions of the binders changes in color and viscosity may occur. Opened containers must be tightly closed and used up as soon as possible.

Hardener:
NewPro POX PA 480           Article no.: 0091-50015
mixture:  by weight 5 parts of main component: 1 part of hardener
by volume 75 parts of main component: 25 part of hardener
respectively 3 parts of main component: 1 part of hardener

   pot life: 4 - 6 hours at 20 - 23 °C

preparing the mixture:
The mixing ratio is considered at the package sizes. The mixture must be completely homogenized. We recommend to use an agitator for the preparation of the mixture.
After mixing the components by hand, the mixture should be repotted. Subsequently, a prereaction time of 15 min and repeating the mixing of the components is recommended. It is not possible to store pre-mixed mixtures longer than the specified pot life.

diluent:
NewPro EP- Thinner                Article no.: 0089-00090

Application:

Before application, the color shade and the compatibility with the substrate should be tested. Object-, material and ambient temperature should not be below 15° C and not above 25° C and must be at least 5° above the dew point.
For large area applications these products are preferably applied by spraying methods. Spray parameters have to be adjusted according to product specifications, to avoid the need to add diluents.

To avoid faults in surface finish (differences in gloss depending on working direction), apply undiluted material and smoothe it in accordance with good professional practice.

All values given are just examples, the actual settings are process-and systemdependent

Theoretical spreading rate:

at 50 μm Dry film thickness (90 μm WFT = 130 g/m²)
          7,9 m²/kg = 10,5 m²/l Mixture

at 80 μm Dry film thickness (= 150 μm WFT = 210 g/m²)
          4,9 m²/kg = 6,5 m²/l Mixture

Drying time:

(at standard climate 23°C / 50 % rel. humidity and adequate air circulation)

dust-dry                                        approx. 60 minutes
touch dry                                      approx. 4 hours
splash-/rain-water proof            approx.  24 hours
cured                                             approx. 14 days.

Drying temperatures below 10°C, relative humidity above 85% or too less air circulation increases the drying time significantly. Drying temperatures below 5°C can cause film defects (blistering, loss of adhesion)
